When performing aircraft maintenance routines engineers are often required to work at considerable height, so it is absolutely essential that the right equipment is in place to minimise the risk of a worker suffering a serious injury as a result of a fall.
CTI Systems' FP30 fall protection solution enables aircraft inspection and maintenance regimes to be carried out in complete safety.
At the heart of the FP30 is a motorised safety rope that allows unhindered crane operation when not in use. The system consists of an overhead device that is attached to the hangar roof or an overhead crane system, from which a hook is easily lowered by remote control. When attached to a crane, the FP30 can be located directly above the area where work is taking place and, of course, the crane is locked when the FP30 is in operation.
The fall protection cable – which is 30 metres long and made from galvanised steel - is retracted at a controlled speed to prevent damaging the winding mechanism.
The FP30 mechanism also limits the speed at which the cable is wound up to prevent damage to the internal mechanism.
The technology meets the requirements of EN 360 and ANSI Z359.14.
